East Sussex is a beautiful county with so much to explore. It borders on Kent with Royal Tunbridge Wells and Tenterden. Brighton with its fabulous Royal Pavilion, The Lanes and designer shops is 30 miles to the west, all fantastic places for days out. It is also possible to do day trips to France from Dover (about an hour and a half drive to Dover).
Closer to home are Battle (famous for the battle of Hastings), the ancient towns of Rye, Hastings, Winchelsea, Alfriston and Pevensey. Tenterden is under an hours drive and well worth a visit. Eastbourne and the Sovereign Harbour is just along the coast with shops, cinemas and boat trips. If you are a walker then Beachy Head, The Seven Sisters, Cuckmere Valley and Birling Gap are around half an hours drive away.
